Montsalvat Heritage Building Digitisation

Webster Survey Group had the privilege of contributing to the Montsalvat Heritage Building Digitisation project. Monsalvat is Australia’s oldest continuously active artists’ community, renowned for its rich history and vibrant artistic culture. Our mission was to undertake the meticulous data capture of the historic Great Hall, a cherished cultural asset within Montsalvat’s artistic enclave.

Employing advanced technology, we utilised the combination of a Laser Scanner and Drone to comprehensively capture every facet of the Great Hall. This innovative approach not only facilitated accurate documentation for restoration purposes but also served to digitally preserve the Great Hall, ensuring its legacy for future generations.

The captured data represents a valuable resource for Montsalvat, aiding in the planning and execution of restoration work to maintain the authenticity of this heritage building. Furthermore, the digital preservation of the Great Hall contributes to the broader mission of Montsalvat, where art’s transformative power is not only celebrated in the present but is also safeguarded for the appreciation of generations to come.

Webster Survey Group takes pride in contributing to projects that honour and preserve Australia’s cultural heritage. The Montsalvat Heritage Building Digitisation project reflects our commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology for the conservation of historical landmarks, supporting the intersection of art, history, and technology in a meaningful way.
