Our Heritage: Cape Webster’s Pioneering Spirit

The Webster legacy in land surveying dates back to the 1850s when Cape Webster, Neil’s great-grandfather, became a pioneer land surveyor in Victoria. A trailblazer of his time, Cape Webster was the first to survey many parts of Melbourne, Central Victoria and South Gippsland. His hand-drawn plans, a testament to his meticulous work, continue to guide surveyors more than a century later.

Neil Webster: A Lifetime of Dedication

Neil Webster, the driving force behind Webster Survey Group, started this journey over 50 years ago. Originally on a path towards industrial chemistry, Neil discovered his true calling in land surveying at J.S Watsons & Associates. In 2012, he was honoured with a 50-year membership from the Institute of Surveyors, Victoria. Beyond surveying, Neil finds joy in competitive tennis and tending to his farm in South Gippsland.

Evan Webster: Nurturing the Next Generation

Evan Webster, Neil’s son, joined the family business full-time in 2011. His surveying career, however, began at the tender age of six, holding ‘the pole’ in the field for his father. Before joining Webster Survey Group, Evan contributed to large-scale residential subdivisions in Melbourne and worked internationally at iconic locations, including Heathrow Airport and the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. Evan’s global experiences and his commitment to quality uphold the family ethos in our operations.
